My Story
Welcome! Thank you for stopping by my website. I'm Cindy and
I'm a wife, mom, grandma, and cat mama who lives on the west side of the
Great Lakes state. As a little girl, I was inspired by "Little House in
the Big Woods" when Laura Ingalls sewed a nine patch quilt. My own first
clothing project involved my Barbie doll. She was my first model for my
very first template. I traced around Barbie to make a dress for her,
using a paper bag for the pattern. When I proudly showed my mom, she
asked where I got the idea to make a pattern like that. I happily
replied, "Patterns are always brown like this, aren't they?"
And that was only the beginning and it grew my love for sewing and
creating. Although it has always been a part of me, I had to set aside
sewing after high school when my career led me down a different path.
But my passion for sewing and design stayed with me. I couldn't walk
past a fabric shop without stopping in to admire their collection.
For the past 20 years, I have been specializing in alterations and
custom design - first for family and friends and eventually for those
referred to me. I offer a wide variety of services including replacing a
zipper in your coat or hemming your favorite skirt or pants, to working
alongside you on your gown for your special day - and every type of
project in between. It feels clear that God is leading me down the road
where I started - the one He has always meant for me to walk since He
created me.
My God-given talent is to help others through my love of sewing. Only
through God's daily guidance can I achieve anything, and I look forward
to working with you on your special designs!
